The North Face Endurance Challenge 50 mile run Washington, DC

Event Date:
09/18/2009 - 09/19/2009

The North Face® Endurance Challenge returns to Algonkian Regional Park, Great Falls Park and the Potomac Heritage Trail again in 2009. The course keeps runners on their toes with ever-changing terrain as stage 3 of the North Face Endurance Challenge series.

The Great Falls sections are highlighted by some intense elevation changes, with steep-but-run-able climbs up to 300 feet. The River Trail covers what is widely held as the marquee section the event: up to three miles of tip-toeing and hopping along bluffs high above the Potomac River. The tedious-but-scenic time it takes to cover this section is more than offset by cruising sections of undulating trail in the river basin.

The Danskin Philadelphia Triathlon

Event Date:
08/01/2009 - 08/02/2009

On August 1st.....4 Junior Team A Step Ahead athletes will travel to Philadelphia Pennsylvania and jump fearless into the Schuylkill River along side me and swim upstream toward and under the Columbia Bridge before circling back arount to exit the water...After running to the Transition Area,  they will ride a two-loop bike course through Fairmount Park taking in some fast and flat sections on Martin Luther King Drive as well as some small, short hills....then it is back to the transition area and out again to hit the pavement running toward the Philadelphia Museum of Art on Martin Luther King Drive.
Courage is somthing that seeps from the pores of these athletes as they not only compete but have to pit stop to adjust legs and sockets while other athletes pass them by....wouldn't it be great if their courage could be contagious....wouldn't the world seem so much better....maybe even easier.
